Cedric Sims
Cedric Sims ‘94, a leading homeland security expert and Texas A&M [Department of Visualization] (http://viz.arch.tamu.edu/) scholarship donor, is a new senior vice president at [Booz Allen Hamilton] (https://www.boozallen.com/) , a global consulting firm that specializes in defense, health, energy and international development.
Sims, who earned an engineering Ph.D. and two undergraduate degrees at Texas A&M, and his wife, Rebekah Sims ’96, endowed a need-based, study abroad scholarship for undergraduate visualization students in 2017.
At Booz Allen Hamilton, Sims will develop strategies to foster integration in complex missions undertaken by the firm for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
“As DHS celebrates its fifteen-year anniversary, our nation faces an expanding set of threats that demand new strategies and technologies, like automation and artificial intelligence, to revolutionize how we protect our homeland,” said Kristine Anderson, head of BAH’s Civilian Services Group. “Sims’ commitment to living the mission and his deep experience in homeland security will bolster the integration that we help clients realize at DHS and across government — work that is critical in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our citizens.”
Sims recently served as president and CEO of Evermay Consulting Group, a management consulting company that creates partnerships between federal and industry clients. He previously served in key leadership and operational roles at federal and state agencies.
He has also served in management and research roles at the Texas A&M University System to promote federal, state, and local interoperability through the Advanced Law Enforcement and Response Technology program.
