Bob Warden, a Texas A&M professor of architecture who headed numerous research projects at historic sites as the director of Texas A&M’s Center for Heritage Conservation, has been named interim head of the university’s Department of Architecture.

Shannon van Zandt, an experienced administrator, prolific researcher and professor of urban planning, becomes the new interim head of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning in fall 2016.

Seven former students from the Texas A&M College of Architecture who have risen to the top of their respective fields while making significant public service contributions were honored as outstanding alumni during a Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 banquet at Traditions Club in Bryan.

As a 2016-17 Montague-Center for Teaching Excellence Scholar, Felice House, assistant professor of visualization, will further sharpen her considerable teaching skills by traveling to two prestigious events for art educators next year.

New appointments to Texas A&M College of Architecture endowed professorships and fellowships, which support their holders’ teaching, research and service initiatives, have been announced by Jorge Vanegas, dean of the college.

Texas A&M faculty and students garnered several distinguished honors at the CELA Conference held last Spring in Utah, including the induction of Jon Rodiek into the council’s Academy of Fellows and an Outstanding Educator Award for Forster Ndubisi.

Charles Graham, 64, a former administrator and member of the Texas A&M College of Architecture faculty who had been serving as dean of the College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma since 2008, died Feb. 12, 2016 surrounded by family.

Pat Yates Spillman ’49, an outstanding alumnus of the Texas A&M College of Architecture who helped shape Dallas with planning, architecture and community leadership, died January 11, 2016.

Leading by example, four former students of the Texas A&M College of Architecture have made generous commitments, endowing three professorships and creating a new fellowship to support a promising residential construction educator.

For exemplary service reviewing scholarly articles in Facilities, a facility management journal, Manish Dixit, assistant professor of construction science, has been selected as an outstanding reviewer by Emerald Group Publishing, the journal’s publisher.

Nominations are under way for the Texas A&M College of Architecture's 2016 Outstanding Alumni Award, which honors former students who've made significant contributions to their profession and community. Nomination packages are due by March 1, 2016.

An architecture firm led by Adrian Smith ’66, an outstanding alumnus of the Texas A&M College of Architecture, heads the 2015 Architect 50, a ranking of the nation’s top architecture firms compiled annually by the American Institute of Architects.

The 2015 Aggie 100 list of the fastest-growing companies owned or led by Texas A&M graduates includes nine businesses headed by graduates from the College of Architecture.
