Camp Arch, Viz Kids learn how to create, animate computer models

High school and middle school age children learned the basics of computer animation at two summer camps July 9-13 at Texas A&M’s College of Architecture.

Students in [Camp Arch] (http://www.arch.tamu.edu/news/camparch/) who opted for a visualization track became acquainted with the basics of computer animation and learned about the wide array of potential careers in the field, including computer animators, creative directors, university professors and software designers.

Kids entering grades 7-9 got an introduction to the world of digital animation and cinematography during the annual VizKids camp, hosted by the Department of Visualization.

Campers were immersed in hands-on sessions of 3-D character modeling, beginning computer animation and lighting.
