Six Texas A&M College of Architecture former students who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their respective fields were honored as Outstanding Alumni at a Nov. 15, 2018 banquet in College Station.

Two Texas A&M University deans, Jorge Vanegas, dean of the College of Architecture, and Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, have been elected to the National Academy of Construction for championing construction science education.

Numerous strengths of the Texas A&M Bachelor of Science in Construction Science program were noted by a team of educators and industry professionals from the American Council for Construction Education, who recently reaccredited the program for six years.

Wendy Pautz ’86, a partner at Seattle-based LMN Architects who led the design of numerous public and private-sector projects that transformed urban settings, is one of the newest members of the prestigious American Institute of Architects’ College of Fellows.

Texas A&M, ranked among the top video game design school in the nation and among public universities, is the premier game design school in Texas, according to new ratings by Animation Career Review, an online career resource for aspiring artists.

A drawing exploring the nature of human thinking and perception by Alejandro Borges, an architecture faculty member at Texas A&M, is one of 82 pieces chosen for the Fifth Annual Artspace 111 Regional Juried Exhibition, June 22-28, 2018 event in Fort Worth, Texas.

Several new and renewed appointments to Texas A&M College of Architecture endowed chairs and professorships were recently announced by Jorge Vanegas, dean of the college.

In recognition of more than 30 years of distinguished leadership in construction education, Kenneth C. Williamson III, a Texas A&M associate professor of construction science, received a Lifetime Achievement award from The Associated Schools of Construction.

A Texas A&M student's design proposal for a coastal Texas city’s commercial and residential development, including natural and engineered solutions to prevent flooding, was featured on WLA, an international website showcasing student and professional work.

Outstanding contributions to student advising by the Texas A&M College of Architecture’s nine academic advisers were recognized with university-level awards presented May 7, 2018 by the University Advisors and Counselors group.

For outstanding dedication to the Texas A&M University mission, two College of Architecture employees received 2018 President’s Meritorious Service Awards, a prestigious honor bestowed upon the campus’ most outstanding staff members, supervisors and teams by university president Michael K. Young.

The iconoclastic designs of Modern master architect Victor Lundy will be researched by Susanneh Bieber, Texas A&M assistant professor of architecture and visualization with the help of a 2018 grant from the university’s Arts and Humanities Fellows Program.

For work promoting the development of research in the field of signage and wayfinding, Eric Ragan, assistant professor of visualization at Texas A&M University, was selected as an Emerging Fellow by the Academic Advisory Council for Signage Research and Education.

For the fourth consecutive year, Texas A&M was recognized as one of the nation’s top animation schools, placing third among public institutions, second in the Southwest and first in Texas in lists created by Animation Career Review, a career resource website.

Jamie Crawley ’96, who holds two Texas A&M design degrees, earned a 2018 Young Architects Award from the American Institute of Architects for significant contributions to and exemplary leadership in the field.
