Architecture college grads lead 14 companies in 2016 Aggie 100 list

Twenty former students from the Texas A&M College of Architecture head 14 companies in the [2016 Aggie 100] (http://aggie100.com/Aggie100Archives/2016/2016List) , a list of the fastest-growing firms owned or led by Aggie graduates.

The list, compiled annually by an independent accounting firm that calculates the growth rate of nominated businesses, is published by the Mays Business School’s [Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship] (http://mays.tamu.edu/center-for-new-ventures-and-entrepreneurship/) . Released Nov. 11, 2016, the list includes companies operating for more than five years as of June 30, 2016 with verifiable revenues of at least $250,000 in calendar year 2013.

“We’re so proud of these top 100 performing Aggie entrepreneurs, who are a very impressive representation of Aggie excellence,” said Richard H. Lester, executive director of the CNVE. “The companies reflect a total of 1,352 years’ combined experience, bring the best to their respective industries and keep Aggie entrepreneurial standards alive and well.”

The entrepreneurs were recognized at a gala in Kyle Field’s Hall of Champions Nov. 11, 2016 and feted in a reunion tailgate party at Texas A&M’s Nov. 12 football game with Ole Miss.

Heads of Aggie 100 companies led by College of Architecture students were also honored at a Nov. 11 Wright Gallery luncheon hosted by Jorge Vanegas, dean of the College of Architecture.

The highest-ranked company on the list headed by a College of Architecture graduate is [Paclik Enterprises] (http://www.paclikenterprises.com) , headed by Mike Paclik Jr ., who earned a [Bachelor of Construction Science] (http://cosc.arch.tamu.edu/undergraduate/) degree in 1999. The Austin-based firm, 14th on the list, specializes in single family and multi-unit design-build projects.

[Hydro-Con LLC] (http://www.hcexcavation.com) , a hydro-excavation and concrete contractor, is 16th on the list. The Lorena, Texas-based firm is headed by Colton Snapp , firm president, who earned a Bachelor of Construction Science degree in 2006.

No. 29 on the list, [Property Design Group LLC] (http://www.propertydesigngroup.com) , is headed by Robert Jones , who earned a [Bachelor of Landscape Architecture] (http://laup.arch.tamu.edu/academics/undergraduate/bla/) degree in 2006. The company specializes in creating design-build pools, landscapes and outdoor living areas in Austin, where the company is located, and the Texas Hill Country.

The [Embree Group of Companies] (http://www.embreegroup.com) , headed by firm presidents Philip Annis and Frank Krenek , who earned Bachelor of Building Construction degrees in 1983 and 1980, respectively, is the 41st ranked business on the list. The firm, which has completed projects for dozens of clients in all 50 states and Canada, specializes in build-to-suit development, design/build services and general construction program management for a wide variety of projects.

The 49th company on the list, [Weaver & Jacobs Constructors, Inc.] (http://www.weaverandjacobs.com) , is led by Brant Jacobs , president, and Michael Weaver , secretary/treasurer, who earned Bachelor of Building Construction degrees in 2000 and 1982, respectively. The Cuero, Texas company provides general contracting and construction management services for educational, public, healthcare and office projects.

Lee Imbimbo , who earned a [Bachelor of Environmental Design] (http://dept.arch.tamu.edu/undergraduate/) degree in 2006, heads [Michael Imbimbo Inc.] (https://one.arch.tamu.edu/news/2016/11/17/architecture-college-grads-lead-14-companies-2016-aggie-100-list/Michael%20Imbimbo%20Inc.) , the 55th firm on the list. The San Antonio company has provided architectural, master planning, programming, historical building assessment and restoration services in 100 cities throughout Texas, the U.S. and Mexico.

[Hawkins Architecture] (http://hawkinsarch.com) , the 65th-ranked firm on the list, provides architectural services at all project phases for a variety of project types. The College Station firm is led by Andrew Hawkins , who earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in 1997.

The 67th-ranked company on the list, [AG|CM Inc.] (http://www.agcm.com) , is a construction management and estimating firm that provides a full range of services for projects in the U.S. and internationally. The company is headed by Derwood Anderson , who earned a Bachelor of Building Science Construction degree in 1978.

[Superior Building Systems] (http://www.superiorbuildings.com) , the 70th firm in the Aggie 100 list, is headed by two 1986 Bachelor of Building Construction degree holders, Scott Burke and Kyle McFarland , who serve as company vice presidents, partners, and project managers. The firm has completed more than 3,000 commercial and industrial design-build and turnkey construction projects nationwide and in five countries in the Americas.

The 76th firm on the list, [Arch-Con Corporation] (http://www.arch-con.com) , is headed by firm president and CEO Michael Scheurich , who earned a Bachelor of Construction Science degree in 1993. From offices in Dallas and Houston, the company’s designers and builders collaborate throughout the a project’s development process to provide commercial structures recognized for their excellence in local and national publications.

Austin-based [Sabre Commercial, Inc.] (http://www.sabrecommercial.com) provides general contracting services for healthcare, higher education, biotech and additional project types. The company, ranked 79th in the Aggie 100 list, is led by Mark McDonald , the company’s director of healthcare services, who earned a Bachelor of Construction Science degree in 2003.

The 86th company on the Aggie 100 list, [KAP Project Services] (http://kapproservices.com) , is headed by Scott Kammerer , who earned a Bachelor of Building Construction degree in 1989. The LaPorte, Texas firm provides project controls and services to oil, gas and petrochemical industry clients.

Rounding out the group of Aggie 100 firms headed by former college students is [Method Architecture] (http://www.methodarchitecture.com) , the 93rd-ranked company on the list. With leadership from Bachelor of Environmental Design graduates Jake Donaldson ‘04 , Keith Holley ‘03 , Eric Hudson ’04 and Vanessa Ortega ‘05 , the full-service firm specializes in tenant finish and ground-up industrial, corporate interior, healthcare, hospitality, brewery and retail projects.
