Barry Mosesman, president of Montecito, California-based [HFP Architects] (http://www.hfparchitects.com/) and a former student at Texas A&M, died Dec. 7, 2011.

Mosesman, who earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1966 and a Master of Architecture degree in 1967, was principally involved in more than 200 of the firm’s healthcare planning and design projects, many of which achieved award-winning recognition.

Most recently, the American Institute of Architects’ Central Coast Chapter recognized HFP with its 2011 Award of Elegance and Efficacy of Illumination for HFP’s Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital expansion in Hollister, Calif.

Mosesman met with Aggie designers past and present at a November 2011 conference of healthcare facility designers in Nashville.

“He spent quite a bit of time with our students at the conference,” said George J. Mann, professor of architecture at Texas A&M. “He was a delightful and very pleasant person and human being, and we will all miss him.”

Larry Lammers, who also earned a Master of Architecture degree in 1967, saw Mosesman at the conference.

“We shared a lot of laughs and our past experiences at Texas A&M that we will never forget,” said Lammers, president of Lammers + Associates, a Virginia healthcare consulting firm. “We also compared notes running large design firms. Barry made a wonderful contribution to the healthcare field.”

Don Sweeney, visiting associate professor of urban planning, also reminisced about Mosesman.

“Barry was a good man, a loyal friend and colleague, and a talented professional. We will miss him,” he said.

Mosesman is survived by his wife, Rhonda, sons Nathan, Neil and Jason and stepchildren Sam and Natalie.
