Two Texas A&M College of Architecture graduate students who show promise as future leaders earned scholarships at the Oct. 16 International Facility Management Association conference in Houston.
The students, Elmira Daneshpour and Sara Soltani, each received a $3,500 Gary McBee Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex Chapter Scholarship.
Daneshpour is a [Master of Science in Construction Management] (http://cosc.arch.tamu.edu/graduate/) major and Soltani is a [Master of Architecture] (http://dept.arch.tamu.edu/graduate/master-architecture/index.html) major.
Both students were selected by the IFMA for scholarships after foundation representatives reviewed their scholastic achievements and aspirations in a facility management questionnaire.
Also at the conference, two graduate construction management students presented papers.
Ashish Dharela presented “How Technology is Transforming User Experience: A Literature Review,” which he co-authored with Sarel Lavy, associate professor of construction science.
Daniel Wheeler presented “Can Facility Assets be Used to Create Added-Value For a Firm Through Strategic Alignment: A Literature Review,” also co-authored by Lavy.
