Alexander Allen
For his extraordinary leadership as president of the Texas A&M Chapter of the [National Association of Home Builders] (http://www.nahb.org) , Alexander Allen, a senior construction science major, received the NAHB's Outstanding Student Award at the national group's annual convention last January in Las Vegas.
“His dedication to home building and the student chapter has been great,” said Ben Bigelow, visiting assistant lecturer at Texas A&M and the chapter’s adviser. “He has been responsible for the resurgence of the NAHB at Texas A&M and certainly deserves the award.”
The recognition is based on involvement in the student chapter and the local home builders association, grade point average and interest in pursuing a residential building career. Winner receive a certificate and gift card from the [Home Builders’ Institute] (http://www.hbi.org) and the award’s sponsor, the [NAHB Leading Suppliers Council] (http://www.nahb.org/page.aspx/generic/sectionID=2313) .

He was presented with the award by Tom Jaenicke, corporate co-chair of the NAHB’s [Leading Suppliers Council] (http://www.nahb.org/page.aspx/generic/sectionID=2313) , and John Courson, HBI president and CEO.
