Leading healthcare system administrators, architects and professionals in related fields will reveal collaborative strategies and case studies of innovative healthcare systems in the spring 2019 Architecture-For-Health Lecture Series, hosted by the Texas A&M University College of Architecture and the university’s Health Science Center [School of Public Health] (https://sph.tamhsc.edu/) .
This spring' s public lectures, “Health Systems and Networks: The New Clients," will take place most Fridays at 12:40 p.m. in the [KAMU-TV studios] (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.google.com_maps_place_KAMU-2DTV_-4030.6084821-2C-2D96.3397015-2C17z_data-3D-213m1-214b1-214m5-213m4-211s0x8646839c13803a69-3A0x37c29806dae4f6ea-218m2-213d30.6084821-214d-2D96.3375128&d=DwMFaQ&c=ODFT-G5SujMiGrKuoJJjVg&r=TgwAfmWOjWnn6KeMtQCRtx5f0XLIfwt686wDNgAivEE&m=WDb5EWXW52h6IpVih1E5ypkid579ExXviK4-y7hFqTY&s=G5rjonOZ2qLyhvRBWWWLtmxnuDsKvfE6HuFeD3any68&e=) , 900 Houston St. on the main Texas A&M campus where they will be videotaped for online viewing. The university community and the general public are invited.
The series is also offered as a one-hour credit course: ARCH 681 for graduate students, ARCH 481 for undergraduates, and PHPM 681-600 for School of Public Health students.
“Administrators, architectural designers and builders are responding to regional health needs by developing new, innovative healthcare facilities, technology and communications systems and networks,” said George J. Mann, AIA series coordinator and holder of the Ronald L. Skaggs, FAIA Endowed Professorship in Health Facilities Design. “They’re responding to the need for easily accessible, quality health care at a reasonable cost, which plays a crucial role in improving the health of regions and communities.”
The series is also coordinated by Zhipeng Lu, senior architecture lecturer and associate director of the Texas A&M [Center for Health Systems and Design] (http://chsd.arch.tamu.edu/) , and Bita Kash, director of the university’s [Center for Health Organization Transformation] (https://sph.tamhsc.edu/research/centers/chot.html) , and Hao Huang, president of the Student Health Environments Association.
