Interactive Wright Gallery exhibit explores a digital approach to collaborative storytelling

Lisa Woods

Digital artist [Lisa Woods] (http://lisabwoodsdesign.com/) is exploring technology as a means of collaborative storytelling in “Gathering,” an exhibit scheduled Nov. 14 – Dec. 9, 2018 at the Wright Gallery, Langford Architecture Center building A on the Texas A&M campus.

“Gathering” invites participants to use their hands as a canvas for storytelling, explores group portraiture and participatory art and celebrates how digital devices can help people tell stories in new ways.

“The exhibit is an attempt to break our assumptions about technology, to move it away from mundane concepts of ‘productivity’ and ‘networking’ to produce something dramatic, mythological, emotional — something that ultimately connects people to people,” said Woods.

The exhibit will also include immersive and interactive digital pieces by [Master of Fine Arts in Visualization] (http://viz.arch.tamu.edu/graduate/mfa-viz-curriculum/) students led by Jinsil Hwaryoung Seo, associate professor of [visualization] (http://viz.arch.tamu.edu/) .

The students will be at the exhibit’s opening reception to discuss their work.
