Chris Grossnicklaus
For his exceptional contributions to the built environment and the profession of architecture and is adept editorial skills, Chris Grossnicklaus, a 2006 Texas A&M [Master of Architecture] (http://dept.arch.tamu.edu/graduate/master-architecture/) graduate, has earned a Texas Society of Architects Associate of the Year Honor Award.
Grossnicklaus and fellow TSA Honor Award winners will be honored during a gala evening Nov. 7 at the Hilton Americas – Houston, part of the TSA’s [75th Annual Convention and Design Expo] (https://texasarchitects.org/v/about-the-annual-convention/) , Nov. 6-8, 2014. They will also be featured in the November/December issue of [Texas Architect magazine] (https://texasarchitects.org/v/texas-architect-magazine/) .
A project designer in the Dallas office of [RTKL] (http://www.rtkl.com/offices/dallas-texas/) , Grossnicklaus has worked on a wide variety of projects, from master planning to large-scale facilities nationally and internationally.
He also earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree at Texas A&M and has served as editor of [Columns] (https://www.aiadallas.org/v/columns-magazine/) , the [AIA Dallas] (https://www.aiadallas.org) magazine catering to the North Texas architectural community.
Columns was recently recognized with a Marketing Communications Award from the Dallas [Society for Marketing Professional Services] (https://one.arch.tamu.edu/news/2014/9/30/former-students-myriad-contributions-honored-tsa/Society%20for%20Marketing%20Professional%20Services) .
“Grossnicklaus exemplifies leadership through his professional work, involvement as editor of Columns and in the chapter's [Emerging Leaders Program] (https://www.aiadallas.org/v/site-home/Emerging-Leaders-Program/3j/) ,” said the awards jury, which selected Grossnicklaus for the honor among other nominees. “Through his volunteerism with AIA, he is filling the critical need of providing a broader national perspective and advocating for the profession through journalism.”
