On weekdays this fall, Texas A&M [Transportation Services] (http://transport.tamu.edu/) is providing a free shuttle service between the university’s main and Riverside campuses.
“It’s a convenient and reliable mass transit option for students and faculty wanting to use the College of Architecture’s [Automated Fabrication and Design Lab] (http://fablab.arch.tamu.edu/) ,” said Lou Tassinary, the college’s executive associate dean.
The shuttle departs the main campus at 8 a.m. and noon from a stop located in front of the Langford Architecture Center’s building C (ARCC), at parking lot #54. It arrives, about 15 minutes later at the College of Architecture’s Riverside facility, also known as the Architecture Ranch.
The noon shuttles returns campus-bound passengers to the Langford C/Lot 54 stop after unloading passengers at Riverside.
A final shuttle departs from Riverside at 4:20 p.m. and heads back to the campus stop.
“This trial service eliminates the last remaining obstacle to fully integrating the lab into the routine teaching and research activities on the main campus,” said Tassinary.
Daily use of the nonstop shuttle, which takes approximately 15 minutes each way, will be monitored to help determine the level of service in the future.
