MUP students helping to update master plan for Brownwood, TX

Residents of Brownwood, Texas had a chance last fall to shape their city’s future by participating in a survey developed by [Master of Urban Planning] (http://archone.tamu.edu/laup/Programs/MUP_index.html) students at Texas A&M, part of a collaboration with the city’s officials to update its master plan.

She said they gathered data from Brownwood ISD, Howard Payne University, the town’s industrial park, floodplain, residential areas, parks, and the wetland near the town’s Wal-Mart.

“I’m just glad they are here to see it first hand,” city engineer Jodie Kelley told Tipton. “We want to know concerns and where the city needs improvement, so we can incorporate into the plan what in the city that people like and what we need to be doing.”
