A diverse group of architectural design and academic leaders shared their expertise at the Texas A&M Department of Architecture’s 2012 Spring Lecture Series. The lectures, open to the public, took place in Preston Geren Auditorium.

Historic preservation efforts undertaken after natural and manmade disasters were the focus of “Disaster,” the 13th Annual Historic Preservation Symposium at the Langford Architecture Center.

Relationships between architectural design and health care for the under and uninsured are the focus of the Center for Health Systems & Design’s Spring 2012 Architecture-for-Health Lecture Series.

An ancient shipwreck off the present day Turkish coast and a Roman map will be discussed by scholars at Texas A&M’s College of Architecture. The ship’s artifacts offer a glimpse at a ancient transportation practices; the 13th Century map captures a pivotal moment in Western cartography.

Imagining New Futures, an event-packed forum sponsored by the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning, drew students and urban planning practitioners to Texas A&M Nov. 17-19.

Tom De Blasis, global design director for Nike soccer and a champion of design as a vehicle for solving some of the world’s intractable problems, presents “Nike: The Game Changer,” Sept. 19 in Preston Geren Auditorium. The lecture kicks off the Texas A&M Department of Architecture’s Fall 2011 Lecture Series.

Susan D. Clayton, a social psychologist whose work examines how people think about and make personal connections to the environment, delivered the keynote address at the college research symposium Oct. 24, 2011.

Some of Texas’ top land developers will discuss their experiences at this fall’s Real Estate Development Association Speaker Series. The lectures will take place 7 p.m. in the Wright Gallery, building A of the Langford Architecture Center.
