Former students and friends of the Texas A&M Department of Architecture are encouraged to RSVP for the annual Aggie TSA Reception, to be held during the Oct. 27-29 Texas Society of Architects Convention and Design Products & Ideas Expo in Dallas.

Students who use Rhino, a software program for 3-D modeling, are invited to register for a Sept. 29–Oct. 1 workshop at Texas A&M’s Langford Architecture Center led by Gabriel Esquivel, assistant professor of architecture, and hosted by SEED International.

Tom De Blasis, global design director for Nike soccer and a champion of design as a vehicle for solving some of the world’s intractable problems, presents “Nike: The Game Changer,” Sept. 19 in Preston Geren Auditorium. The lecture kicks off the Texas A&M Department of Architecture’s Fall 2011 Lecture Series.

Susan D. Clayton, a social psychologist whose work examines how people think about and make personal connections to the environment, delivered the keynote address at the college research symposium Oct. 24, 2011.

Members of the Ernest Langford family visited the Technical Reference Center June 27, 2011 to take a look at the center’s Langford collection, with more than 400 photographs and documents of one of the giants in the history of Texas A&M's architecture program.

An architectural preservationist, a creative director, scholars, educators, an urban planner and noted architects — including the designer of the world’s tallest building — are among the eight former students of the Texas A&M College of Architecture to be honored this year as Outstanding Alumni.

Mohammad Yaghan, a visiting scholar from Jordan, lectured on muqarnas, a type of corbel that is one of the most distinctive elements of Islamic architecture, March 29 at the Langford Architecture Center as part of the Melbern G. Glasscock Center for the Humanities Notable Lecture Series.

“Legacy of a Seer,” an exhibition of portraits of the late Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and Texas A&M professor Charles Gordone, painted by Robert Schiffhauer, associate professor of architecture, was featured this summer at the College of Architecture's Wright Gallery.
