Construction science educators and graduate students from across the United States and throughout the world will came to Texas A&M April 22-25, 2015 for the Associated Schools of Construction’s 51st Annual International Conference.

Participants attending a weeklong celebration of architecture in the nation’s capital will be able to learn about the history of “green” building design from Philip Tabb, professor of architecture at Texas A&M.

Images of everyday, personal objects and drawings of oversized handkerchiefs, representing memory and observation, were featured in a March 5-31, 2014 exhibit of work by Karen Hillier, professor emerita of visualization, at Texas A&M’s Wright Gallery.

To mark 25 years of disaster-related research at Texas A&M University, many of the nation’s top hazard researchers are gathering on campus April 4-5 to present their latest work as part of the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center’s “Planning for Disaster Resilience Symposium.”

The challenges and rewards of preserving historic buildings in Houston will be discussed by leaders in the city’s preservation community at “Houston: Building Stories,” the 15th annual preservation symposium hosted March 21-22, 2014, by Texas A&M’s Center for Heritage Conservation.

The public is invited to view design concepts by students in an Architecture-For-Health studio for a medical examiner’s office and EMS facility. The concepts will be unveiled at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, 3991 E. 29th St. in Bryan.

An Oct. 5, 2013 auction of “green” doghouses, many of which were designed and built by Texas A&M environmental design students, raised almost $2000 for the Aggieland Humane Society and a group supporting emerging local architects.
