J. Thomas Regan, who as dean shepherded the Texas A&M College of Architecture through a formative decade, passed away peacefully March 5, 2015 in his Cape Cod, Mass. home. He was 74 years old. A memorial service for the professor emeritus of architecture will be held this spring in Osterville, Mass. on a date to be announced.

Art informed or inspired by science and created by current students and recent graduates from Texas A&M’s Department of Visualization will be on exhibit in “Supernova,” scheduled March 27 – May 9 at Fresh Arts, 2101 Winter St., Studio B11 in Houston.

A diverse group of leaders in architectural design and theory will share their wisdom and experiences with Texas A&M students in the Spring 2013 Department of Architecture Lecture Series. The presentations are scheduled 5:45 p.m. in the Geren Auditorium.

For providing excellent staff support and adeptly coordinating the myriad activities overseen by the Texas A&M College of Architecture business office, Faith Stringer, business coordinator III, will receive a 2014-15 President’s Meritorious Service Award.

For significantly improving how building energy efficiency is measured and numerous other achievements, Jeff Haberl, professor of architecture at Texas A&M, will receive the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station’s Center Fellows Award.

Austin-based artist Jennifer Chenoweth explores how architectural design influences feelings in “You Are Here,” an exhibit showcasing her drawings, paintings and sculpture Feb. 13 – March 12 in the College of Architecture's Wright Gallery.

The iconic west facade of the Alamo is slowly wearing down. Researchers from the Center for Heritage Conservation at Texas A&M have found that the base of a decorative column flanking the Alamo’s main entrance has lost from 5 to 7 centimeters of its limestone surface since 1960.

Gallery goers became percussionists at “Symphonic Infinitum,” an interactive exhibit of circular, hybrid objects created by multimedia artist Sherman Finch, assistant professor of visualization, at post-studio projects in Houston in early 2015.

Efforts to conserve the Alamo, Texas’ historic shrine to liberty, will be presented by speakers from a wide variety of disciplines at the CHC's 16th annual Historic Preservation Symposium, scheduled Feb. 20 – 21, 2015 at the Langford Architecture Center on the Texas A&M campus.

The work of American designer and sculptor Wells Mason, whose Postminimalist art, with clean lines and simple forms, often comment on a particular idea or moment in time, will be on exhibit Jan. 14 – Feb. 11 in the College of Architecture’s Wright Gallery.

Design concepts created by Texas A&M architecture and landscape architecture students for a new outpatient and sports medicine facility in the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children will be unveiled Dec. 3 and 5 in College Station and Dec. 8 in Dallas.

“Mystery of Art,” an exhibit featuring drawings and paintings by Russell Reid ‘89, runs through Dec. 20 at the Wright Gallery on the second floor of building A in the Langford Architecture Center. A reception for Reid will be held at the gallery 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Clint Brown ’78, director of software products at Esri, the world’s leading developer of geographic information system applications, will keynote Texas A&M’s GIS Day festivities 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18 in Memorial Student Center Room 2300E.
